scripture

Zechariah 7:8-10

And the word of the LORD came again to Zechariah: "This is what the LORD Almighty says: 'Administer true justice; show mercy and compassion to one another. Do not oppress the widow or the fatherless, the alien or the poor. In your hearts do not think evil of each other.'

John 13:34-35

Jesus said to his disciples, "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another."

quote

dW praise!

praise!

GOD IS GOOD and Ross is fixed!!!  Thanks so much for all your prayers.

Today at about
11:00 am (midnight in CA) they took Ross to have the angiogram done.  They found the left anterior descending artery blocked 90%.  The doctors wanted to immediately do the angioplasty and place the stint, and Ross & I agreed.  I'm very shocked that he had that much blockage in such a major artery in the heart.  Thankfully it was caught before he had a heart attack.

He is feeling great, except for the pressure on his leg right now to heal the location where the catheter was placed.  And he should be home tomorrow.  After a few days of rest he will be good as new....maybe better!

We are so thankful that God has placed so many wonderful friends around us.  I don't know what we would do without your prayers and support!  We are blessed to have you in our lives.  We will keep you posted on any further updates but right now and all looks great.

Love,
Jennifer

scripture

John 3:19

Jesus explains, “This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God.”

Tuesday update from Jennifer

Hello.  Thank you so much for your prayers and your support.  We really appreciate it.  Ross has checked in at the
Royal Hospital here in Oman...with a name like that you know it has to be good :)

Tomorrow morning he will have angiography done to determine the location and extent of the blockage.  We will then make a decision about how to proceed.  The procedure should only take 40 minutes.

We have been given assurance from Oxy's doctor in
Oklahoma and also from the Regional Medical Office of the US Embassy that the cardiac care in Oman is good.

Please continue to pray for wisdom for us, the doctors and the staff at the hospital.  Pray also for the accuracy of the procedure, healing and recovery.

We did tell the kids that Ross would be spending the night in the hospital to have some tests done because he hasn't been feeling good.  They seemed fine about it.

Thanks!!!!  Love, Jennifer

Psalm 63:1
O God, you are my God, earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you, my body longs for you, in a dry and weary land where there is no water.

scripture

James 4:13-15

Now listen, you who say, "Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money." Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. Instead, you ought to say, "If it is the Lord's will, we will live and do this or that."

dW 09.27.07

scripture

Genesis 2:21-22, 25

So the LORD God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, He took one of the man's ribs and closed up the place with flesh. Then the LORD God made a woman from the rib He had taken out of the man, and He brought her to the man… The man and his wife were both naked, and they felt no shame.

thought

It is ultimately fear that limits the closeness of our relationships. What if they knew my past? What if they knew my struggles? What if I was honest about my feelings? We wear so many layers of superficiality that no one really knows who we are. They only see who we want them to see. But if we strip off these layers then we could experience true relational intimacy. Wouldn’t it be an amazing feeling to know that you can go to someone and be fully yourself, flaws and all, and yet still be fully accepted?

Fear makes strangers of people who would be friends.

scripture

Luke 9:62
Jesus replied, "No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the
kingdom of God."

thought

An Old Testament story echoes here in Jesus’ words. Remember when Lot and his family left Sodom before it was destroyed? They were told not to look back. Lot’s wife did not listen because her heart was still in Sodom, and when she turned back she became a pillar of salt. Pay attention, following God is serious business. Following God is serious business.
