scripture

Romans 12:1 & 2

Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

quote

There were no bible schools in the New Testament. The only reason why we have bible schools is because we have bankrupt preaching. That’s why. Mister Spurgeon said 100 years ago that the bible suffers more from its exponents than it opponents. A witty American said not long ago, “Sure the bible is infallible. Otherwise how do you think it has survived so much bad preaching?” Oh brothers let’s get back and preach the book. Preach what God says about it, about sin, about redemption, about the Holy Ghost, about His coming, about war and tribulation. Why, this is the most exciting book in the whole world! – Leonard Ravenhill

I had many that wanted to see the pictures that I spoke of. Here they are.

scripture

Romans 7:9, 12

Once I was alive apart from law; but when the commandment came, sin sprang to life and I died… So then, the law is holy, and the commandment is holy, righteous and good.

thought

The law is like a gas gauge. If you drove without a gas gauge in place then you are at risk of running out of gas and being stranded. For those of us who have gas gauges in our vehicles, do we get angry when it hits the big E? No, of course not. Imagine someone getting angry and yelling at the gas gauge - “Why do you have to judge me? I just want to drive.” Instead we say, “Okay the gauge reads empty that means I need gas.” In the same way the law works. It simply makes us aware of our need for a savior.

scripture

Romans 6:11-14

In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus. Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires. Do not offer the parts of your body to sin, as instruments of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God, as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer the parts of your body to him as instruments of righteousness. For sin shall not be your master, because you are not under law, but under grace.

Everyone is a slave to something.

thought

Have you ever heard someone say about their sin, “it is okay because God forgives me”? That statement is only half true and must be sickening to God. Yes, God does forgive you but it is not just okay to continue sinning. When we sin and do it without regard to the blood Jesus poured out on the cross we are saying that His blood is nothing more than dirty dish water.
