Today I met Jimmy
I went to the gas station this morning. As I was washing my windshield a man came around the pump and walked past the back of my truck. He said, God bless you. I thought I had heard right but asked again and then introduced myself. He said that he had noticed my stickers and asked if I was a Christian. My stickers range from America needs Jesus, Love more – Want less, In God We Trust, and Not of This World. From there the conversation started. We stood talking across my truck bed for maybe 15-20 minutes. During that time he shared a bit about himself and how he’d been talking to God as he was driving to the gas station. He has got a lot going on in his life right now and is trying to do the right thing. We encouraged each other and he wants to visit my church this coming Sunday. What a simple thing for God to use to encourage a struggling brother. Stickers.
Aren’t we all just beggars telling other beggars where to find bread?
John 6:32-35
Jesus said to them, "I tell you the truth, it is not Moses who has given you the bread from heaven, but it is my Father who gives you the true bread from heaven. For the bread of God is he who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world." "Sir," they said, "from now on give us this bread." Then Jesus declared, "I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty.”
