scripture

Jeremiah 29:11-13

“For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”

En Espanol, Jeremías 29:11-13

quote

"Pursuing Light gets messy. And it's tiring and sometimes nobody around you gets it. And you keep growing and running while everyone else seems to be spiritually lounging in a hammock, sipping a fruit smoothie, trying to forget the reason they're here. This deeper-walk thing is the only way into greater light. The faint of heart give up. The whiners take their toys and go home. The crybabies blame everybody else for their lack of Light. Becoming the light of the world means knowing the Light of the World. Seeking the Light of the World. Basking in the Light of the World. You have to get up and get serious and do whatever it takes to get yourself out of the shadows and into the overwhelming, eye-squinting glare of His presence. God is waiting to make you into a brilliant light, but you have to move toward Him in relationship."

scripture

Ephesians 4:22-24

You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.

En Espanol, Efesios 4:22-24

challenge

We have been called to live differently.

Imagine if we all wanted less and loved more.

Imagine if we cared for our neighbors.

Imagine if we shared things with no expectation of reciprocation.

Imagine if we committed intentional acts of kindness.

Imagine if we did what we said we were going to do.

Imagine if we slowed down to smell the roses.

Imagine if we learned how to play nicely with others.

Imagine if we knew the difference being wants and needs.

How might we live differently so that the world is thus inspired to join us?

prayer ministry

I joined a group on Facebook called “Adopt a Terrorist For Prayer”. Visit their website, http://www.atfp.org/, to find out more about this provocative ministry. Below is an email I signed up to receive from their website. You can sign up to receive these too and even adopt a terrorist for you to personally pray for!

Subject: False Alarm on Hakimullah

"Latest news from Pakistan indicates that Hakimullah Mehsud probably did not die from wounds sustained in a drone attack in January. If you have been praying for Hakimullah Mehsud, please continue asking God to intervene in ways that will change his heart and protect the people of Pakistan. Hakimullah is one of the world's most dangerous and most wanted men. He is to Pakistan and

Afghanistan what Osama bin-Laden is to the United States."

scripture

1 Samuel 16:7

But the LORD said to Samuel, "Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The LORD does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart."

Matthew 23: 25-28

"Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You clean the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of greed and self-indulgence. Blind Pharisee! First clean the inside of the cup and dish, and then the outside also will be clean. Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside but on the inside are full of dead men's bones and everything unclean. In the same way, on the outside you appear to people as righteous but on the inside you are full of hypocrisy and wickedness.”

En Espanol, 1 Samuel 16:7 y Mateo 23: 25-28

Goodness consists not in the outward things we do, but in the inward things we are.
