scripture

Genesis 12:1-4

The LORD had said to Abram, “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you. I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.” So Abram went, as the LORD had told him; and Lot went with him. Abram was seventy-five years old when he set out from Harran.

En Espanol, Genesis 12:1-4

thought

God essentially told Abram to leave everything he knew for sure and to just get moving.  ‘Don’t worry about the details.  Trust Me.’  What is God going to ask of me?  What is He asking of me right now?  Am I going to be immediately obedient?  Or am I going to miss an opportunity to partake in God’s best because I did not trust Him to be my everything?  Oh God, I am a man of little faith but I want to be used by You.  Help me to keep my eyes on You in a relentless pursuit of Your will in order to build Your kingdom and to bring unto You all the glory that You are so deserving of.

scripture

Exodus 27:20-21

Command the Israelites to bring you clear oil of pressed olives for the light so that the lamps may be kept burning. In the tent of meeting, outside the curtain that shields the ark of the covenant law, Aaron and his sons are to keep the lamps burning before the LORD from evening till morning. This is to be a lasting ordinance among the Israelites for the generations to come.

En Espanol, Exodo 27:20-21

roots

The aish tamid (תמיד אש) is the eternal flame that is to burn in the altar within the Jewish Tabernacle and never go out. In modern Jewish practice, the aish tamid is kept alive symbolically through daily prayer and the study of Torah.

"How can this be?" Nicodemus asked. "You are Israel's teacher," said Jesus, "and do you not understand these things?"

The "wagon-wheel" is a symbol that displays an acronym of the Greek letters ΙΧΘΥΣ (Iota Chi Theta Upsilon Sigma) to the statement of Christian faith "᾿Ιησος Χριστς Θεο Υἱὸς Σωτήρ" (Iēsous Christos Theou Huios Sōtēr: "Jesus Christ, Son of God, Savior").

scripture

Isaiah 11:6-9

The wolf will live with the lamb, the leopard will lie down with the goat, the calf and the lion and the yearling together; and a little child will lead them. The cow will feed with the bear, their young will lie down together, and the lion will eat straw like the ox. The infant will play near the cobra’s den, the young child will put its hand into the viper’s nest. They will neither harm nor destroy on all my holy mountain, for the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the LORD as the waters cover the sea.

scripture

Isaiah 53:5-6

Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered him punished by God, stricken by him, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed. We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all.

En Espanol, Isaías 53:5-6

Whoever removes the Cross and its interpretation by the New Testament from the center, in order to replace it, for example, with the social commitment of Jesus to the oppressed as a new center, no longer stands in continuity with the apostolic faith.
