scripture

Genesis 9:11-17

God spoke to Noah saying, “I establish my covenant with you: Never again will all life be destroyed by the waters of a flood; never again will there be a flood to destroy the earth.” And God said, “This is the sign of the covenant I am making between me and you and every living creature with you, a covenant for all generations to come: I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth. Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will remember my covenant between me and you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life. Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth.” So God said to Noah, “This is the sign of the covenant I have established between me and all life on the earth.”

Many believe - and I believe - that I have been designated for this work by God. In spite of my old age, I do not want to give it up; I work out of love for God and I put all my hope in Him.

scripture

Philippians 2:1-4

Therefore if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.

Revelation 1:8

lyrics

There ain’t nothing that can’t be done by me and God

Ain’t nobody gonna come between me and God

One day we’ll live together where the angels trod, me and God

Early in the morning talking it over, me and God

Late at night talking it over, me and God

You could say, we’re like two peas in a pod, me and God

He’s my Father, He’s my friend

The Beginning and the End

He rules the world with a staff and rod

We’re a team, me and God

I am weak but He is strong, me and God

He forgives me when I’m wrong, me and God

He’s the one I lean on when life gets hard, me and God

Josh Turner, Me and God

thought

Some people say that God’s their copilot.  If that’s the case, then they need to switch seats.  Either God is in charge or He is not.

note

I have been in San Salvador, El Salvador for the past week.  I was on a team of 37 people from four different churches across the US that worked with missionaries Steve and Pam Kern, Good News in Action, and Iglesia Baptista Vida Nueva.  We went through the neighborhoods in the morning sharing the gospel and in the evening did the same but also showed a movie and put out a bounce house for the kids.  Many people made professions of faith.  The local church will follow up with every single one of these people for discipleship.

scripture

Isaiah 6:1-8

In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the LORD sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple. Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly. And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory. And the posts of the door moved at the voice of him that cried, and the house was filled with smoke. Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts. Then flew one of the seraphims unto me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar: And he laid it upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged. Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.

En Espanol, Isaias 6:1-8

quote

After praying in a church service, an old woman came up to me and said, “Don’t you ever ask God to use you!”  Of course, I was confused by this woman’s words.  She went on and said, “You make yourself usable and God will wear you out.”
