God whispers to us in our pleasures, speaks in our conscience, but shouts in our pains: it is His megaphone to rouse a deaf world.

Scripture

Proverbs 18:2
A fool finds no pleasure in understanding but delights in airing his own opinions.

En Espanol, Proverbios 18:2

Thought

I am currently spending a lot of time in my personal study in Proverbs.  If you spend any time at all in Proverbs, you soon realize one theme that keeps coming up is control of one’s tongue and the idea that one who is seeking wisdom should be slow to speak.  This idea is reinforced by James in the New Testament.  It is truly an extremely hard thing to control.  So much damage can be done in so little time that may never be undone.  I know I am challenged daily to be “quick to listen and slow to speak” and to not “delight in airing my own opinion”.

It is the province of knowledge to speak and it is the privilege of wisdom to listen.

scripture

John 21:25

Jesus did many other things as well. If every one of them were written down, I suppose that even the whole world would not have room for the books that would be written.

En Espanol, Juan 21:25

thought

I love this last verse in the book of John.  John thinks back on all that he has written about Jesus and says, There was also so much more that Jesus did but there’s no way I could record them all!  There is not enough room on this earth to contain all the books that would be filled.  There is not enough parchment, ink, or time to do so.
