note

I want to thank Susan who pointed out that this is the fourth month of the year, not the third. I had continued putting 03.xx.10 for this month.  Yes, it is indeed April. :)

scripture

Proverbs 3:5-6

scripture

1 John 4:18

There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.

application

There are many points that we can list for applying to our lives from 1 John 4:7-21.

http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1%20John%204:18&version=NIV

1) We ought to love because God is love.

2) When we act unloving, we are denying our knowledge of God.

3) As God expresses love, without prerequisite, we too should express love.

4) God embodies us when we love others.

5) As the Father, Son, and Spirit are of one mind in their love, we too should focus our minds toward loving one another.

6) God's love redeems people.

7) Love preserves us while we live in this world.

8) Fear leads to exclusion, while love practices inclusion.

9) We are able to extend love to others because God has extended love to us.

10) Love is the fruit of a relationship with God.

11) Acting in unloving ways questions how well a person understands the love of God.

12) Loving God while not loving others is impossible.

Proverbs 20:7

The righteous man leads a blameless life; blessed are his children after him.

laugh

A Sunday School teacher was teaching her class about the Lord’s Prayer. At the end of the lesson, Susan raised her hand and asked curiously, “What is God’s first name?” The teacher was caught off guard. Quickly, Thomas raised his hand and shouted out before he was called on. “God’s first name is Howard!” The teacher chuckled and asked where he had heard this. “You told us this morning. Our Father, who is in heaven, Howard be your name.”
