scripture

Joshua 1:7-9

The LORD speaks to Joshua, “Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go. Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go."

En Espanol, Josué 1:7-9

scripture

Romans 8:38-39

For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

En Espanol, Romanos 8:38-39

scripture

1 Peter 3:8-12

Finally, all of you, live in harmony with one another; be sympathetic, love as brothers, be compassionate and humble. Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult, but with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing. For, "Whoever would love life and see good days must keep his tongue from evil and his lips from deceitful speech. He must turn from evil and do good; he must seek peace and pursue it. For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their prayer, but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil."

En Espanol, 1 Pedro 3:8-12

Speak the truth and shame the Devil.

thought

Jesus called the Devil, the Father of Lies.  (John 8:44)  The Psalmist called God, the God of Truth.  (Psalm 31:5)  Therefore, when we choose to speak lies, we are choosing to identify with the Devil and our sin nature.  However, when we choose to speak the truth, we are choosing to identify ourselves with God as new creations.

scripture

Galatians 2:20

I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

Our desires must not only be offered up to God, but they must all terminate in him, desiring nothing more than God, but still more and more of him.
