1 Corinthians 3:19-20
For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in God's sight. As it is written: "He catches the wise in their craftiness"; and again, "The Lord knows that the thoughts of the wise are futile.

This quote is not to say that blessings are unattainable. But it directs us to the fact that every good and perfect gift comes from God. "To God be the glory for things He has done". Often times we rob God of the glory because we see blessings as things we attain by our own effort or from the efforts of others.
