Great question Kyle. In today's world, mostly it is due to sin; most of the world's poor are that way because their governments are oppressive, corrupt, and self-serving, from the top levels to the bottom. Despite what they say ont he outside, the fact is that they have no interest in bettering the situations of their citizens. I am convinced that the bulk of the world's poor are intentionally *kept* that way for the purpose of maintenance of a permanent underclass, kept that way by Western governments acting in collusion with powerful central banks, to facilitate the transfer of thew world's wealth; why else the tragic and inexcusable waste and underdevelopment of Africa's tremendous natural resources? When that formula is mixed with power-hungry individuals, e.g. Middle Eastern dictators, the result is widespread abject poverty. The objective data to prove this is there for anyone to see. And the worst part is that the poor have no means or hope to ever better their physical situations. There are other causes of poverty to be sure, but the above covers 95% of the world's poor. It is truly a hopeless situation as long as the Prince of this world calls the wealthy and powerful of the world to his side (darkness).

Thanks for sharing your thoughts Pete. The darkside is strong and works itself in the hearts and deeds of men.
