I included, some weeks ago, information about the Drawn from Water ministry that works in Africa rescuing tribal children from culturally mandated infanticide. My wife told me this morning that she read their August 24, 2010 blog post and found out that they are $5,000 short for their September budget projection. The funds donated go to provide for electricity, water, food, two nannies, a cook, rent, and traveling to rescue children. Happiness is based on circumstance. Joy is much deeper than happiness, because it exists through dependence on God. What specifically brings us joy? 1) Our union and communion with Jesus brings us joy, 2) our complete dependence upon Jesus brings us joy, 3) feeding on God's Word brings us joy, and 4) obedience to Christ brings us joy.
